"The Tree of Sorrows"

Quote from: El Rico
Mind Reflection on what can be perceived through a Natural wooden sculpture given by mother nature. the rough state of this tree is enhanced by a Artistic interpretation of what can be find in the Human mind, we all have a different interpretation of what we see ..some will see fear and some will see love and others wi...ll see nothing at all, this is what make this concept of ' Conscious Primitive Art ' a interesting way to discover ourselves in reflection of what we see and interpret .. just have a try and enjoy Being conscious when you focus your attention on what is ..
Feel free to leave your comments so we all learn from it :)
Aloha

The Album @ Facebook holds some interesting thoughts from the visitors about this sculpture - have a look!

Rico about the origin of the material used for this sculpture:

Quote from: El Rico
I found this wood floating in the water of the mouth of the Pimpama River ..I was paddling and saw it and pass it ..then few second later i stop ? duno why ? and when back and lifted it of the water ..I have it since and it keep on revealin...g a very interesting Mana every time I look at it ..so i keep on sculpting what show itself !

I had another look at my Facebook and found an update Rico sent out recently, which fits this topic quite well:

Quote from: El Rico

Hi Everyone,
Has you have maybe noticed for the last few weeks now this page content have extended to another form of Visual Art that I practice beside Acting and script writing.
I have been focusing on my intimate perception regarding 'Primitive Art' and uploaded many pics in relation to 'Visual concept' that reflect 'Consciousness' and 'Well Being'.
I believe Art is a form of Universal Language and think that what we see affect us in a deeper level then just what we understand of it.
Art is the reflect of the Human Mind ability to create and resonate, bringing our reflection on what we perceive and feel in both side of the Universal mirror of life.
I will be posting more of this interpretation on this page and try with your help to bring into light what I believe is important for us and our children to know if they want to be Happy during this time of great tribulations and beyond.
I have started posting parts of ' The tree of Sorrows ' and will post more of it in the next few weeks has it reveal to us some of what I would call
" human defects" or Egoistic mind Game that we have to be aware off.
Remember that what you see inside this tree is your own interpretation of what I have perceived while " enhancing " is natural state by carving it in this shape that was originally given by mother nature to this wooden remain.
Sculpting, Painting and most of all Visual Art are ancient forms of communications used trough centuries to pass on helpful information to future generations.
Has I usually work doing films where many of " life values " are in contradiction, this is my way to Stay in tune with the universal consciousness and Keep it real without to be affected to much by the character that i incarnate on screen.
My little contribution to a better world without Violence and hate for the youth.I know that this sound a bit like a Utopian concept but if that can make a little difference for you,me and the future generations then this is worth my time on Facebook.
The Best thing in life are the one that come for free .. Happiness is one of them.
I hope you like what you see Fam..

Aloha

i really like the way the simple, plain curves at the base mirror the shape of the carving - they almost look natural; like cracks in the wood

Had to look up the meaning in Wikipedia;

"In Hawaiian mythology, an ʻaumakua (pronounced /aʊˈmɑːkuːə/ in English; often spelled aumakua) is a family god, often a deified ancestor."

One heck of a large deity and very original, not to mention beautiful!!
